This area is one of the most overlooked regions but it shouldn’t be with some of the best beaches, shopping and history that Spain has to offer. Furthermore, there’s a good amount of choice, so whether you’re looking for a beach front campsite or rugged caravan park in the Spanish countryside, we have you covered.
Alcalà de Xivert
Situated north of Castellón, Alcalà de Xivert is a small historic village with links to the Knights Templar that boasts it’s own historic quarter and castle (Castillo de Xivert). This an area surrounded by natural beauty and has some of the best nature walks in the Valencia region. If that’s not your thing then you’ve also go the 10km of beaches that line the Alcossebre coast with Las fuentes beach close by. Furthermore, you’ve got a small amount of bars, restaurants and daily amenities close by in the local village.

Benicàssim
Possibly the liveliest of all of the resorts in the Castellón region, Benicàssim has become a thriving tourist hot spot and even hosts it’s own 4 day music festival each year (FIB). Furthermore, this is an area where many British ex-pats have chosen to live. And you can see why with the stunning beaches, shopping, nightlife and close proximity to Valencia airport.

El Saler
A stunning area famed for the natural surroundings of the Albufera National Park, El Saler is one of those places that where relaxation becomes second nature. Glistening white sand beaches and stunning sunsets makes El Saler a popular for both holiday makers and day visitors. Although it’s only a small village on the southern fringes of Valencia, getting into the vibrant city is straightforward with a regular bus service.

Miramar
Miramar is a large beach resort situated in the heart of the Valencian region, popular with Spanish holiday makers and foreigners alike. An area that has something to suit everyone, you’d be forgiven for never getting bored. On the other hand, you’ve got the modern beach front area with beach bars and restaurants thriving with Spanish holiday makers and Brits alike. Furthermore, the close proximity to Valencia Airport makes it a convenient option for travelling between the UK and Spain.

Puçol
Beaches, nature resorts, historical landmarks and close proximity to Valencia City makes Puçol a resort worth considering. Although this is a small village close to the coast it doesn’t get overcrowded during the summer season and maintains it’s traditional Spanish charm. This is a place where you can enjoy the local traditions, explore the rocky seabeds or just relax on the blue flag beach. Furthermore, there’s a selection of bars, restaurants and shops as well as a weekly street market.

Which area of the Costa del Azahar has the best Campsites?
Our favourite area for the best Campsites is Peñíscola. Why, we hear you ask? Because Peñiscola seems to find the perfect blend of old and new so you’ll never be short of things to do. Firstly, you’ve got the historic tourist old town with windy streets and the impressive Peñìscola castle. Secondly, you’ve got the modern beach area with bars, restaurants and cafes. Furthermore, this is a favourite location for many ex-pats retiring to the Costa del Azahar in Spain to live in a caravan.
What to look for when searching for Costa del Azahar Campsites:
Annual site fee costs on the Costa del Azahar
Site fees on the Costa del Azahar range from 4,000€ to 5,500€ annually. Expect to pay slightly more annual fees for the holiday parks with tonnes of facilities but these are generally paid monthly with discounts given for paying in advance for the year.

Consider the following as annual running costs on a campsite on the Costa del Azahar: Site fees, gas (bottle), electricity (metered) & Caravan insurance. Water is generally included within the site fee costs on a campsite in Spain.
Facilities
Facilities differ by each campsite on the Costa del Azahar but expect to have at least 1 swimming pool and a restaurant / bar area. Larger Campsites will generally have more facilities that include additional pools, fitness areas and children’s playgrounds.
