Let us help your narrow down your search to help you find what you’re looking for…

Costa Blanca Campsite locations

So you’ve decided that the Costa Blanca is the place where you want to start looking for a Campsite but you’re not sure which area. The Costa Blanca is one of the regions of Spain that a large chunk of ex-pats choose to find a holiday home location or residential style campsite to live on in a caravan full time. With so many holiday caravan parks (campsites) near the beach and a number of ‘residential style campsites’ in the major Costa Blanca resorts of Benidorm, Albir, and El Campello, there’s a park in this region to suit everyone.

Albir

Situated only 10 minutes from Benidorm, Albir (El Albir) is often overlooked in favour of it’s lively neighbour. Despite this, this is a resort which is gaining more and more popularity year on year due to vast amounts of development, a varied gastronomic scene and not forgetting its long promenade (with turquoise blue waters) which runs all the way to Altea. Furthermore, this is a diverse and modern multinational resort with shops, bars and restaurants created by a number of different European nationalities.

Campsites in Albir: Camping La Colina

Alicante

A modern city but with lots of history, Alicante is a vibrant place with a huge dining and drinking scene which includes many bars and restaurants overlooking the harbor. This is a tale of 2 cities- on the one hand you’ve got the narrow winding backstreets, bustling with small tapas and wine bars- On the other hand you’ve got the long promenade with modern bars and restaurants which overlook the sandy beach and clear blue waters. Furthermore, you’ve got some of the major Costa Blanca resorts such as Benidorm and Torrevieja less than an hour away.

Alicante (Costa Blanca) Campsites: La Marina Camping & Resort

Altea

Probably the most stunning Spanish town on the Marina Baixa that can be found 10 minutes drive from its neighbours – Albir and Benidorm. Altea is a resort that has a bustling beach area with a long promenade and harbor but venture towards the hillside village of old town Altea and you’ll be stunned by its beauty and Spanish authenticity. Expect to find whitewashed houses lining the narrow cobbled streets heading towards the square where the blue domed church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo (Our lady of consolation of Altea). Similarly, the ‘square’ is also home to boutique shops, some of the best restaurants on the Costa Blanca and traditional tapas and wine bars.

Altea Campsites: Camping Cap Blanch

Benidorm

Benidorm needs no introduction and many of you are probably already aware of what this fantastic resort has to offer. If there was a resort that has it all this is it and you’ll find Benidorm has some of the best beaches, the quaint ‘old town’ and more bars and restaurants than you can imagine. Furthermore, you’ll find loads of history, stunning scenery and not forgetting its location which is perfect for exploring the whole of the Costa Blanca. Benidorm has the largest concentration of campsites than any other area of Spain (9 in total) centered around the main Benidorm area.

Benidorm (Costa Blanca) Campsites: Camping Almafra, Camping Arena Blanca, Camping Armanello, Camping Benidorm, Camping Benisol, Camping la Torreta, Camping Raco, Camping Villamar & Camping Villasol.

Bigastro

Being built on a small hill in the middle of the flood plain rather than on the lower ground by the river, Bigastro commands panoramic views over the Vega Baja. Consequently this feature earns the town a share of the much-used nickname “Mirador de la Vega” (viewing point of the Vega). Similar to a lot of smaller towns on the Costa Blanca coast you’ll find a small selection of essential shops such as bakery, supermarket, chemist and not forgetting traditional tapas bars. For those that prefect to get out and explore, the La Pedrera Park and recreational area are close by, which adjoins the reservoir of the same name – just over the municipal boundary in Orihuela.

Bigastro Campsites: Camping La Pedrera

Denia

A port town situated around a 45 mins drive from Benidorm, Denia is a popular destination for those that don’t want the glam of some of the other Costa Blanca resorts. That said, it has it’s own long stretch of beach, local bars and restaurants and the Castillo de Denia which sits overlooking this once small resort. Furthermore, the Balearia ferry runs from Denia to Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca regularly so day trips or wild weekends are only a short trip away.

Denia Campsites: Camping Los Pinos

Finestrat

Situated in the mountains overlooking Benidorm and the Marina Baixa, Finestrat is a traditional Costa Blanca village perfect for those that want to be close to the major resorts but not directly situated there. At only 10 mins drive to Benidorm and Villajoyosa spending the day as a tourist is never to far away but with the benefit of retiring to the tranquility of the pine forest surroundings at the end of the day. Finestrat village is a small community but with an emphasis on embracing their culture with every Fiesta (both local and national) celebrated in style.

Finestrat Campsites: Camping Puig Campaña

Guardamar del Segura

Blessed with over 12km of white sandy beaches and in a privileged position between Torrevieja and Alicante, Guardamar del Segura is a popular retirement resort for many British ex-pats. A a result, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and tourist facilities in this Southern Costa Blanca resort but this area still retains its typically Spanish charm. Another point of interest is for those that like to practice golf with the popular golf courses of La Marquesa at Rojales and La Finca at Villamartin close by.

Guardamar del Segura Campsites: Camping Alannia Guardamar

Moraira

A popular Costa Blanca north resort with a small village atmosphere, Moraira is one of them places you hear of but you’ve never been. Situated around 15 minute drive from the larger resort of Calpe in the south and Javea (Xabia) to the north, you’ll find plenty of seafood restaurants and small bars situated in the area overlooking the port or on the main street leading to the sheltered cove beach.

Moraira (Costa Blanca) Campsites: Camping Moraira

Javea

One of the most undiscovered resorts by the masses on the Costa Blanca, Javea (also known as Xabia) could be the perfect place to retire or holiday. On the one hand, you have a large community of ex-pats who have chosen this place to call home, resulting in a familiarity to the resort. On the other hand, you’ve got the vast swathes of tourists that visit this area to enjoy all it has to offer. The main area is the Arenal beach area which is a large cove and here you’ll find a stunning beach with shallow waters, some of the best restaurants on the Costa Blanca and modern wine bars.

Javea Campsites: Camping Javea, Camping El Naranjal

Santa Pola

Lying just 20km south of Alicante, Santa Pola has become a favourite holiday destination for both locals and tourists alike. Similarly, and due to it’s close location close both Alicante (El Altet) and Murcia airport it is growing as a popular choice for ex-pats living and owning holiday homes. Furthermore, this area is steeped in history and built around the Renaissance Castle-Fortress built in the 16th c. to defend itself from the pirate attacks. This building is found in the city centre and still has a very strict military appearance.

Santa Pola Campsites: Camping Bahia de Santa Pola

Torrevieja

A large resort on the Costa Blanca, Torrevieja is situated around 50km south of Alicante and close to the other large Costa Blanca south resort – Guardamar del Segura. As you’d expect, from a resort of this size, the area is brimming with shops, restaurants, bars, golf courses, popular ex-pat areas such a Villamartin and Cabo Roig. And not forgetting the large beach area and promenade.

Torrevieja (Costa Blanca) Campsites: Camping Florantilles

Torre de la Horadada

Torre de la Horadada is a seaside resort situated right on the border with Murcia and just south of Torrevieja. Known as the ‘beach town with the ancient watch tower’ this area is especially popular with British ex-pats who come here to retire. As a result, this area caters well for all nationalities and you can see this by the development of the promenade at Mil Pas beach and the ‘always busy’ La Zenia Boulevard.

Torre del la Horadada Campsites: Camping Lo Monte

Villajoyosa

You’ve probably seen this resort in brochures and literature for the Costa Blanca but never know where it was. Easily identifiable by its multicoloured houses lining the seafront and coupled with a palm tree laden beach, Villajoyosa is a picture perfect resort. By contrast to it’s lively neighbour of Benidorm, Villajoyosa (La Vila) is a relaxed resort with a traditional Spanish charm and loads of history. That said, there’s more than enough to keep you busy with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and even a chocolate museum (Valor).

Villajoyosa Campsites: Camping El Torres, Camping Alicante Imperium

Which area of the Costa Blanca has the best Campsites?

Our favourite area for the best Campsites on the Costa Blanca is Benidorm . Why, we hear you ask? Because Benidorm has everything you could ever wish for with it’s long stretches of beach(es), tourist attractions and stunning mountain backdrops. Furthermore, this is a diverse area blending both modern and traditional. On the one hand you’ve got the lively Levante side of town providing nightlife with 1,000’s of bars and restaurants. On the other hand, you’ve got the charming ‘old town’ of Benidorm with it’s quaint back streets boutique restaurants and traditional tapas bars.

In addition, Benidorm also has the largest concentration of residential style campsites on the Costa Blanca where residents live in a caravan or mobile home (static caravan) all year round. These campsites are well equipped with some of the best facilities on offer and earn an official rating from the communidad Valencia of 3 to 5 stars.

What to look for when searching Costa Blanca Campsites:

Annual site fee costs on the Costa Blanca

Site fees on the Costa Blanca range from 3,000€ to 5,500€ annually but the average is 4,800€ (discounted) on the residential style campsites with site fees paid annually or every 6 months. Expect to pay slightly more site fees for the 5 star holiday parks and popular caravan parks due to their high level of facilities.

Annual running costs

Consider the following as annual running costs on a campsite on the Costa Blanca: Site fees, gas (bottle), electricity (metered) & Caravan insurance. Water is generally included within the site fees on any campsite in Spain.

Facilities

Facilities differ by each campsite on the Costa Blanca but you’ll find that most have at least 1 swimming pool and a restaurant / bar area. That said, If you’re willing to increase the annual site fee costs then expect to gain additional outdoor pools, indoor swimming pool, gym, children’s play area, multiple bars and restaurants, water slides, fitness centres and even a dog walking or exercise area.

Distance to the nearest town or Costa Blanca resort

This should be the most important factor when searching for your a Campsite on the Costa Blanca as the areas are spread out. You’ll have an area in mind where you want to be so focus your search primarily in that location. Once you’ve found a campsite or residential mobile home park, calculate the distance to your favourite resort or town using Googlemaps or similar map tool.

As you’ll notice, in areas such as Benidorm, most of the Campsites and residential style campsites are within a 10 mile radius from the centre of Benidorm and Albir and Altea Campsites are only a 10 minute drive away. Whereas, Campsites and Residential Mobile Home Parks in the Torrevieja and Alicante area tend to be more spread out and a little bit further from a major town or resort.

Dog friendly Costa Blanca campsites and residential mobile home parks

Most of the Costa Blanca Campsites are dog and pet friendly but please confirm this directly.
